Visa & Entry

Most nationalities can apply for a 90-day e-visa online for $25 at evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn. Citizens of Germany, France, UK, Japan, Korea, Singapore and several other countries enjoy 45-day visa-free entry. Contact us and we'll confirm exactly what you need.
The official processing time is 3 business days, but it often comes through in 1–2 days. Apply at least 5 days before your trip to be safe. We recommend applying 1–2 weeks early during peak travel seasons.
Yes. You can extend your visa once inside Vietnam at an immigration office or through licensed visa agents. E-visas can typically be extended for an additional 90 days.
As of 2025, there are no COVID-19 restrictions or health declarations required to enter Vietnam. Check for updates closer to your travel date.

Safety & Practical Tips

Yes — Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia's safest destinations. Violent crime against tourists is rare. The main concerns are petty theft (keep valuables secure, especially in busy markets), traffic (Vietnamese roads can be hectic), and scams targeting tourists in major cities. Our guides keep you safe throughout.
The Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the local currency. ATMs are widely available in cities. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops. We recommend withdrawing VND at airport ATMs for the best rates. Current rate: ~$1 USD ≈ 25,000 VND.
No vaccinations are officially required for Vietnam. However, recommended vaccines include Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis (for rural areas), and standard travel shots. Consult your doctor at least 4–6 weeks before travel.
Vietnam is conservative in temples and rural areas — cover shoulders and knees when visiting pagodas and religious sites. Carry a light scarf/shawl. Casual clothes are fine in cities and beaches. Pack light layers for Sapa's cooler highland climate.

Transport & Getting Around

Flying is fastest (2 hours, from $30–80 on VietJet, Bamboo, or Vietnam Airlines). The Reunification Express train is a scenic 30-hour journey with sleeper cabins. Overnight buses also connect major cities. We arrange all internal transfers for our tour guests.
Yes — motorbike rental is popular and costs $5–15/day. An international driving license is technically required. Traffic can be intense for new riders. For safety, we recommend private car transfers for our tour guests, especially between cities.
Grab (Southeast Asia's Uber) works excellently in all major Vietnamese cities. Download before you go. Prices are shown in advance, drivers are vetted, and routes are tracked for safety. Far safer and cheaper than negotiating with street taxis.
No — do not drink tap water in Vietnam. Bottled water is cheap and widely available. Most hotels provide free bottled water. Use bottled water even for brushing teeth in rural areas. Our tours always have water provided.

Budget & Booking

Daily budgets: Budget traveler $40–60/day (hostels, street food, local buses). Mid-range $80–150/day (nice hotels, restaurants, guided tours). Luxury $200–500+/day (5-star hotels, private tours, premium experiences). Our tours range from $149 (2-day Ninh Binh) to $1,899 (10-day honeymoon).
Cancellations 30+ days before: full refund minus processing fees. 15–30 days before: 50% refund. 7–14 days before: 25% refund. Less than 7 days: no refund (you may reschedule free of charge). We strongly recommend travel insurance.
Yes. If you find the exact same tour itinerary at a lower price elsewhere within 48 hours of booking, we will match that price. Contact us with proof and we'll adjust immediately.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and bank transfer. A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments. Bank transfer is free. A 30% deposit secures your booking; balance due 30 days before departure.
